The one thing that most of us have aspired for at some point in our lives is to achieve an ideal weight. The need to lose weight has different catalysts for different people.  The common goal though is weight loss and a fast one at that. This may seem unattainable and even impossible. But, with minor modification, you can lose weight fast. Weight loss can help change the way you feel, uplift your looks and personality, build enormous confidence in you and keep you healthy.

If you thought crash dieting or fad diets works wonders, think again. It does more harm than good. You put your body through a regimen that it is not used to. Prepare your mind and body for a positive change to achieve healthy weight loss. Get a plan of action ready, chart out things you want to do to reach your ideal weight. Include a healthy diet and work out in that plan. There are workout programs like kickboxing, yoga, pilates, dancercise, and so on. These just don’t help in weight loss, they also make you feel beautiful.

Once you are set and prepared, tell yourself that your aim is weight loss and not weight loss that results in bad health. To begin with, maintain a journal and record details of all that your body has consumed. Yes, it includes every glass of water you drank too! This will give you a fair idea of what your body is taking in. In the journal, record your work out as well; include details of what part of your body you worked on and for how long. In just a few weeks, you will notice that your dietary habits and work out schedule is changing and for the good.

The most effective way to lose weight fast is to make a change in the foods that you eat. Do not cut out anything from your regular diet. Just think moderation. By moderating, you not only control the portion size, you also eat a wholesome meal without compromising on foods that you enjoy eating. Avoid starving or completely doing away with a certain type of food. This may result in craving, which in turn can lead to over eating. Include fruits, vegetables, lean meats, eggs and dairy products. The common misconception is that carbs and fats are unhealthy. No, they are not. Fats and carbs are as important as other nutrients and micro nutrients are. There are good fats that you must include in your diet. Limit your consumption of processed foods. They taste artificial and provide no nutritional value. The upside of eating right is weight loss plus great results in the health of your hair and skin.

Drink a lot of water. Your body needs to be sufficiently hydrated. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water. Sometimes, we misinterpret thirst for hunger and end up binging. While working your way to weight loss, learn to differentiate between thirst and hunger. Catching the right signals can prevent you from over eating or starving.

Physical activity complements a good diet, and leads to quick weight loss. Choose a work out that will suit your interest and lifestyle. Be regular and fit 5 days of work out in a week. However, seek professional help before you embark on a workout or diet regimen of any sort.

Measure yourself in regular intervals but, don’t obsess over it. For some people results show faster while the others have to work a little hard. Each body responds differently to diets and work outs. So keep at your schedule diligently.

Once you have achieved your desired weight, don’t stop at it. Make an effort to maintain it. This will help you stay in shape and make you feel inside and out for a long time.
